Dim Sum

Yesterday we met Shea and Caia for dim sum. The girls had tons of fun eating their noodles and sticky rice while Shea, Girard and I had a great visit and enjoyed a delicious lunch.

I can't believe how well Caia eats with a fork. Not a kiddies' plastic fork but a real piece of cutlery. Bryn, on the other hand, still chooses to use her fingers most of the time. I'm pretty sure her thinking is she can eat more that way, which turns out to be true. She managed to wolf down most of the noodles while Caia sat like a little lady next to her, patiently using her fork to eat most of her lunch. She did eventually resort to using her fingers but she probably knew she didn't have a hope in heck of getting her share if she continued to be polite.

Mmmm...noodles!

An after lunch rest with wet cloth and blanket.

Too funny. That big fork for such a little Caia. I can't believe how big Bryn looks next to her. Kinda like AVa and Claire I guess! And also the pic of the two of them with their "soothing items". Thanks, great to see them together.

Awwww! Sounds like a wonderful time!

And Bryn is not alone in using her fingers instead of a fork. Claire is fairly proficient with a fork but seems to prefer her fingers most of the time!

That was so much fun!! I'm glad you had your camera. I forgot mine, as well as a more age-appropriate fork for Caia. Those two can knock noodles back fast. The older they get, the more entertaining they are with their interactions. I like the way they exhausted themselves and needed their blankies at the end of the meal. As always, I really appreciate our visits, Rae and Girard. I'm looking forward to our next dim sum meal!

Great seeing the girls side by side. And what could be better than a little snuggle with a blanket and wet cloth after dinner?

Don't remember if I told you before but I was a "wet facecloth" girl when I was a kid...:)

Shea, the way Caia handled that fork I don't think you have to bother with an age-appropriate one. She was doing an awesome job! We're looking forward to our next dim sum get-together, too. Bryn is still talking about it.

Carolyn, I remember you saying you were a wet facecloth kid. That made me feel a lot better about Bryn wanting one!

It is so great that you guys get together often. Looks like you had a great time.

I see they both cleaned their plates too. Sounds like most of the Xinyu sisters are good eaters.
