Trick or Treat!

We couldn't have asked for a nicer Halloween this year. It was a beautiful evening and Bryn and I had a great time. Poor Girard missed out on all the fun since he works evenings. We only visited a few houses but she came home with tons of loot. She was our cute little kitty this year and we think she looked adorable.

We've been busy lately with our music and gym classes. Bryn loves music and singing (her latest song is Take Me Out To the Ball Game) and still makes up her own songs all the time to entertain us. She's getting more comfortable in gym and loves the trampoline so much we bought her a little one for home. The other day at gym she was playing with a hula hoop. She had it around her waist and said "Look mom, I'm Saturn!" The days are never boring and we always have a chuckle over something she's said or done.

It seems like she's grown a foot in the past couple of months -- she's now 36" and just shy of 30 lbs.  She loves reading books, doing puzzles, playing with play-doh, coloring and painting "like Pubba". Her latest thing is band-aids -- we go through them like crazy. Her stuffies are covered with them and Bryn always has some sort of owie she thinks she needs a band-aid for even if it just ends up on her clothes. She loves to tease and giggle and is constantly on the go.

Potty training is going slow to say the least. Even with rewards (bribes?) of Smarties and stickers Bryn doesn't have much interest in using her potty. She's still a non-sleeper and is becoming more of a night owl all the time. And (sigh) the later she goes to bed the earlier she gets up. Her favorite question is "why?" and her favorite answers are "I can't" and "no". She's become very good at asserting herself lately and we have a lot of lively discussions, most of them at meal time when she's saying "I don't want that". We've always tried to tell her to say yes, please and no, thank you in a nice voice and usually she's pretty good.  One day during one of our discussions I was trying to convince her to do something and she said "did you say please in a nice boice, mom?" I try not to think about what she'll be like when she's 14 and keep telling myself it's good that she has her own mind. :)

Busy making pizza.

Our little Beethoven.

Having fun on the tramp.

She gets her fashion sense from me.

All dressed up to go to her first wedding.

My girl.

Bryn's Nana and Pubba were visiting a few weeks ago. When Nana pulled out her crocheting Bryn ran and grabbed a pencil to use as a hook so Nana could show her how.

Rembryn.

Papa and Bryn looking through our already well-worn Christmas catalog.

Bryn is an incredibly adorable kitty! And wow, how grownup she looks in that pretty dress for the wedding! She looks like a little lady.

On the flip side, I cracked up over the photo of her in that crazy getup! The look on her face is just priceless in that one!

Thanks for the awesome update! It's so fun to hear what Bryn is into these days and even funnier - what she's saying! That Saturn thing is amazing!

Bryn, you were a very cute kitty. You and Jade would have been virtual twins in your cat costumes!

That interest in band-aids sounds funny. Reminds me of the Humpty Dumpty song we sing in music. Your photos are a great snapshot of who Bryn is at 2 1/2. So many interests and activities. I love it.

I'm also glad to see that your Christmas catalogue is as well-loved as ours is!!

I bet the neighbours loved seeing little Bryn dressed as a kitty. She is a doll.

What a character you have on your hands! I am totally impressed by the Saturn comment. She is brilliant and imaginative.

Sounds like she and Maeve are pretty much the same size. But Bryn's hair is much longer and fuller. Isn't it wonderful (and a bit sad) how grown up the girls look now. Where have those babies gone?

Keep bouncing and singing Bryn!

What a beautiful kitty you were Bryn. Love your costume. Sorry daddy missed out on the fun evening and it sure was beautiful weather this year. It sounds like your growing and changing so quickly...so much fun at this age. Tell mommy I know from experience having an almost 14 year old is LOT'S of fun but she has awhile to go. I am scared to think what Emma will be like as a 14 year old too...yikes, I might have grey hair early..ha ha hugs and take care.

Well, that's gotta be the cutest little kitty cat I've ever seen!!

The things Bryn says just crack me up! "I'm Saturn"!!! Now that is something else.

Bryn always looks so tall to me in the photos. She's such a beauty.

Looks like you guys are having lots of fun! Can't wait to see all the girls enjoying Christmas!!(maybe if you get your skype going soon we'll have a little visit!! hint-hint).
Miss you all,
xoxo

OK, I'm so late commenting, but sometimes all I manage is to read and not comment. That kitty costume is stylin'. I envy that you got her to do the makeup and hair accesories. We didn't have that success. I love the "girl in the 'hood" getup. Too funny. The saturn thing is one more smart cookie saying for little miss Bryn. She'll definitely be the professor of the group:) Thanks for the update.
